The Online Inquiry Center (OIC), operating under the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons of the Republic of Azerbaijan, is a digital platform for collecting and processing information on missing persons.
The OIC helps to:
- collect information
- support search efforts
- assist identification processes
Information collection
Users can provide key details about a missing person, including:
- name
- date and place of birth
- physical description
- information on relatives
- last known circumstances of disappearance
- other relevant details
This information is used for search, clarification of fate and identification.
Use of information
Information submitted to the OIC:
- is accessible to competent state authorities
- is used within search activities
- supports data analysis and matching
It may assist both in locating missing persons and identifying human remains.
Case tracking
The OIC allows users to follow the progress of a case, including:
- search status
- identification stages
- need for additional information
DNA identification
In certain cases, genetic analysis is used.
DNA profiles are compared between:
- relatives
- human remains
Additional samples from close relatives may be required.
When a match is established, identification can be confirmed with a high degree of certainty and the results are forwarded to competent authorities.
